Our Primary Outreach Programme
We are keen to work with schools and local partners, delivering activities to engage and enthuse students such as practical physics demonstrations and maths master classes.
In the longer-term, we want to explore the key period of transition from KS2 to KS3 and learn more about the impact of this on girls - and on students from disadvantaged backgrounds - so that we can plan how our expertise and experience could support this.
If you'd like to get in touch about working with us, please email info@surreymathsschool.co.uk. We'd love to hear from you!
Where is the moon?
Recently we visited Holy Trinity Pewley Down school to join a group of children from several local primary schools, as part of the Royal Insitution Masterclass series. Our session was titled "Where is the moon?" and involved lots of hands-on activities, in which the pupils used their maths and physics knowledge to create a scale model of the earth-moon system. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the session and told us that they had learned a lot from it. We really enjoyed meeting them too!
